Hi and welcome to Ju-jitsu, the best Martial Art! Suitable for all the world, girls
and boys, men and women any shape and size!
In fact Ju-Jitsu is probably the best martial art for women, as it helps for women
to learn self defence!
What is Ju-Jitsu?: Ju-Jitsu is a martial art that is a mix between judo and karate,
there is a lot of ground work and also throws.
Where can i start Ju-Jitsu?: You can learn Ju-Jitsu in most nearby leisure centres.
How do you know how good you are?
As you get better at Ju-jitsu you will begin to grade, this enables you to achieve
more, tags and belts are presented to you after your grading, providing you pass!
You have to get two tags and then a coloured belt is introduced. Each colour
represents how good you are!
How old do you have to be?
If you want to do Ju-Jitsu you can be any age you like! The children's class
usually goes up to 16, but however it varies! Although once you get into the
adults class you will have a chance to use weapons!
How much is it?
It would be about £2-4 per lesson for children and £4-6 per lesson for adults. However different clubs do vary!

It takes place on sunday nights 6-7, for children under 16 and 7-8 for adults.
The instructor presently is Jon Andrews
and he is a fantastic teacher, he is joint with Jason.
You will where a Gis: white trousers with knee pads and a blazer (white) with a
badge. Also a belt around
your waste! In Jujitsu we wear a Gis,
which is a strong, loose uniform that we use to practice in. For your first few
classes, just wear sweat pants or shorts and a t-shirt. Once you decide to
attend regularly we will ask you to acquire a Gi, and we can tell you where to
buy them. A Gis will typically cost $30-$60, and it will last several years. We
typically do not wear anything on our feet, though martial arts shoes and/or
socks are acceptable.
Women should wear a sports bra and t-shirt (not a tank top) under their Gis. Men
may want to wear a jock strap. You can buy you gis from our instructor when you
get to the club!
